closed caption

I am assisting a resident in a skilled nursing facility using DTV. The facility just upgraded to now provide HD DTV satellite service to the residents and now the closed captioning in the resident's room does not work. It's engaged/activated on the set. The closed captioning does not work on any channel. The residents do not have a DTV remote control like a home setup. How do I receive the CC signal on the channels? This is a big problem due to the hearing loss of some residents.

You may need to contact the company that installed the system.

What model number DirecTV box?

You might need to enable CC on the DirecTV box rather than the TV.

If the facility does not use DirecTV boxes, then they have a special "multi-dwelling distribution system" that was installed and maintained by a third party company, not DirecTV.
