Consisten Netflix lockup when paused

Only happens to Netflix.

Genie 2 and Gemini

Pause Netflix for a long time (over 5 minutes)

Hitting play should resume, but black screen. No response from netflix.

Can fire off Prime, Hulu, etc, no problem, but come back to Netflix and black screen, no response to anything.

Go into settings...apps... force stop the Netflix app and then open it, works fine.

So, clearly the Netflix app... very disappointed in quality of system.

OK, so I guess you do not realize that Netflix is a pre-installed app in the Gemini... it CANNOT be uninstalled.

You can uninstall updates, and return it to the factory supplied version. I did that. Then it updated.

SAME behavior, screen blanks at exactly 5 minutes. But ONLY Netflix locks up, and play or apps key does not restore. I have to use HOME to get control.

Going back to the netflix app now either a blank screen or that show cannot be watched.

to recover:

  • Go to SETTINGS
  •  then APPS
  • got the Netflix app
  • then force stop Netflix
  • from the same menu, open Netflix

now it runs

On Hulu, and others, same thing.

This does not happen with DTV shows or recordings.

Could be a bug in the Netflix app.

guess you did not read far enough... same thing on hulu, prime, etc.

it's something about the apps, all of them....
