Direct TV will not allow me to view 3d Content / TC-P54VT25 TV, Sony HT-CT100 Sound Bar, Direct TV Box HR-24-500
I just received my new Panasonic TC-P54VT25 television. This TV is on the approved DirecTV list.
I also have a Sony Sound Bar HT-CT100 and the new HR-24-500 DirecTV box.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this. Currently, the HDMI signal is routed from DirecTV through the Sony Sound Bar and then into my TV via HDMI.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Connect the HDMI cable from the HR24 directly to the TV. Connect the sound bar to a different HDMI input on the TV to handle other sources and use the optical or coaxial digital audio output from the HR24 to get audio to the sound bar.

Ransom, I don't believe your soundbar is 3D pass-through capable, even if it was, it probably still wouldn't work with the directv DVR. Simply follow the directions of greywolf, it's the only solution at this point.

I saw channels 103, 104 and 106 greyed out (insensitive) on my HR24-100 hooked up to my 54VT25. I called DirecTV and was told I would need to DOWNGRADE to a HR20 receiver. I was waiting on a "tech" person to talk to when I told my DirecTV receiver that my monitor could only support 1080p resolution. While talking to the tech the channels 103, 104, and 106 "magically" became enabled. Probably because I told the receiver the TV was 1080p (I think).
Prior to this phone call we watched OnDemand 3D presentations such as the Egyptian Mummy documentary with no problem.
It is true you need to have a "high speed" HDMI 1.4 capable receiver to pass 3D content. I have a Yamaha RX-A800 Aventage which supports 3D with the correct HDMI cables (from monoprice.com).

I think the graying out of the 3D channels in the guide was a short term error. I saw the same thing. The HR20 won't do 3D.
