Directv 3d and 3d ready projectors

Has anyone figured out how to get the directv 3d to work with 3d ready projectors yet? I am an owner of an Acer H5360 and have Nvidia 3d vision for my cpu. When I ordered my new service through directv when I moved two weeks ago, the agent told me even though it wasn't on the "list" of supported 3d tvs that it should work anyways because its 3d ready. After countless attempts to get it to work, I have almost given up on it. If anyone has any clue on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How are you inputting your 3d signal from dtv to the computer/projector?

Through HDMI, what I've gathered in the past few weeks is that the 3d output on the directv box is 1080p at 120hz while most all 3d ready projectors are 720p at 120hz in 3d mode, so basically I would need a downconverter to go from 1080p to 720p. Someone is about to release one for $399 although I don't know the link. I was hoping it'd be something as easy as changing the output on the directv box to 720p, but that just doesn't work.

It's easy enough to get the output to 720p. Just turn Native off and use the front panel RES button to select 720p or uncheck all resolutions in the supported resolutions in the HDTV menu except 720p. 3D works fine when you do that  I just checked to make sure.

Are you using a dlp 3d ready projector or a 3d ready tv?  I tied that with my projector and it didn't work.

I have an approved TV. I'm just saying the reason you think yours is not working is not really the problem. DirecTV uses a different system from Blu-Ray for example. Most other 3D sources require a high speed HDMI cable but the DirecTV signal can use an ordinary HDMI cable.

But it says it is not connected to a 3d ready device even though it is.

There is an HDMI handshaking process that the receiver goes though exchanging information with the TV/projector. If your projector does not return the proper signals, that's the message you get. Your projector and video card not supported devices and are not recognized. The agent you mentioned in your first post was wrong. There is a link to supported TVs at http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/hd/3d

Some devices not on the list may work and will be added to the list but do not expect equipment not on the list to work. There may be a software change in the future that could enable additional equipment, but you are out of luck right now.
