Directv Android App Believes I don't have an Internet Connection

When I try to open the android Directv app it tells me 'You need internet access...'

All my other apps that require internet is fine... my browser, YourTube and the rest.

Doesn't the app realize what the problem is???

Who designed this app anyway???

Most apps and OS have a certain server they contact to determine whether or not you have Internet access.  If that server name doesn't respond, then obviously your Internet connection is broken, because it is inconceivable to the app that the server wouldn't respond if your Internet connection is okay.

What ever. Wouldn't be better to say, 'Directv is unable to connect to the server at this

time?'

The message makes it sound like it's the fault of mine or my device.

Especially when all my other apps have no problem getting a response from the server(s) they try to connect to??

The app developer believes that the Internet is perfect and the corporate servers are perfect and any fault must be elsewhere.  

The actual problem in this case appears to be an expired certificate on the DTV servers.

I haven't been able to use the app all day.

I'll uninstall it and reinstall it like I did the last time.

Yes. Uninstalling and reinstalling it fixed the issue, for now.
