DirecTV video player does not work on any browser

I've tried it on Safari and now Chrome as recommended, and I get through the Flash and installer steps, but any time I try to start a show it says "Sorry, we ran into a problem. Please restart the video player." I've restarted it five times now, and nothing helps. What else can I try?

edit: I searched through the forum, seems like this is an issue that's been happening for years. Has anyone found a solution?

@chumbaker, we know how convenient it is to be able to watch your favorite shows while you’re on your computer, so I would be happy to provide a few suggestions to get this working.


Please make sure that you have Adobe Flash Player installed and enabled. Please keep in mind that Flash is only supported on desktop PCs.

 

If you’re trying to watch DirecTV on a smartphone or tablet, it would be better to download the DirecTV app from your device’s app store.

 

Once you are sure that you have everything, make sure that you have no third-party browser extensions blocking playback of our videos.  Many security programs and other extensions block the playback of any Flash content for security and performance reasons.

 

We would recommend making an exception for directv.com, rather than turning it off altogether.


Finally,  you should clear your cache and cookies, and restart your browser, just be sure.

 

 If directv.com still does not work after all of that, please let us know.
