Directv2pc Bandwidth Hog
I went out and purchased a new monitor so that i can watch my recorded shows while I am at my computer. only to find out that when I am playing World of Warcraft and watching Directv2pc, my bandwidth is being hogged by the directv2pc app. does anyone know how I can fix this ? or am I SOL?

The signal stream on Directv2PC is between the HD DVR and your computer and for a 1080i signal is approximately 8 bps. Inasmuch as an Ethernet cable is capable of considerably more than that, I doubt it's a bandwidth issue unless you are attempting to run this on a wireless network.
A much more likely culprit is the horsepower of your graphics card which Directv2PC loves, and will use most of a 1 GB card if it's available. I assume your game loves the card too, so there is the most likely bottleneck. Not sure just how you concentrate on both at once and suspect you may be pulling our leg, just a little?

pbhound,
I recall several users posting problems trying to do this over the years since DirecTV2PC was rolled out. If you will key "World Of Warcraft" in the search box(without the "s) in the right bottom corner of this forum you can read some of those threads. Unfortunately, as I remember it, no one actually got both of these apps working at the same time. But read some and see if you find any suggestions/resolutions. I tend to agree with user dcd....DirecTV2PC requires all the horsepower your graphics card can provide and imagine the PC game does also. Good luck.

i understand that the Directv2pc is a graphics hog but i would see a frame per second drop in game instead that is at 60fps while my latency is running in the thousands. i will do a search like you suggested.
thanks for all your help
