Directv2pc not compatible with Intel Integrated Graphics
I was reading on an Intel forum that the Intel chipset w/integrated graphics (w/o standalone graphics card) will not play SD or HD content using Directv2PC. I confirmed this b/c all I get is a green screen with no sound. It seems that a lot of people have Intel integrated graphics so I wanted to know if there is any plan to update Directv2PC to work with Intel Int graphics? Also, what was the reason to not support these and why?

Integrated graphics are for the most part found on laptops. And, there is no doubt that a lot of laptops don't have the horsepower to run this program. I have no inside info, but I seriously doubt that the developers of this software decided to "exclude" Intel. I think rather they set up parameters that would be required to playback copy protected 1080p programming in real time and the majority of integrated graphics couldn't pass muster.
Directv2PC is a free program available to users who have a networked (preferably hard wired) HD DVR connected to a computer capable of handling the high demands of the program. One could ask "why not SD DVR's too?" or "how about an app for my iPod?" I think what we have here is all we're apt to get.
Have you gone on a concentrated search of chipset updated drivers?

I have a new laptop with an integrated video card that is HD compatible. I have HDMI out port, plays HD content from the internet, such as Netflix, has Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M with up to 1309 mB total video memeory for smoth video streaming and HD playback yet the advisor still says that my system is not compatible. This makes no sense to me. I have an LAN connection from my DVR to my modem and to my laptop. I see no reason why I should not be able to use this program. Please explain to me why this does not work.

The advisor uses a data base and it's often out of date. Try downloading the program itself and see what you get. If you do get a fault message, be sure to copy it verbatim as many sound similar but have different causes.

This issue with Direct2pc has been going on too long. Directv does not seem to want to support its product. When you call them, they can't come up with answers. Two months ago I thought the program was cool enough that I went out and purchased a new notebook, that DOES have integrated graphics, and CAN handle HD content, and yet, like so many others, all I get with HD is the green screeen. I love Directv, but when it comes to this product, they come up extremely short. If you're going to provide a product - free or not - you'd better support it, or drop it. It makes me think about switching providers.

This is a user to user forum and Directv will never see or read your words. Lots of posters throw in the "I think I'll switch" bit, I'm not sure for what reason. You'll switch TV providers because a free ancillary program won't work on your computer? It works perfectly on both of mine, how would you explain that?

The support for direct2pc comes from cyberlink.com , not DirecTV
