Dtv and no sound when going through Sanyo vcr/dvd
I just upgraded my directv receiver to the latest one 54. They have taken away rca outlets. The way my system is hooked up is almost everything is plugged into my Sony receiver by hdmi cables except I run my receiver through Sanyo vcr/DVD player with rca cables in back and my fire stick through the same DVD player using av plugs in front. I had to buy a 10 pin to rca cable to replace missing ports, however I no longer get sound. I get sound changing input on receiver but not through Sanyo.

if the RCA cables coming in are the yellow, white & red go to amazon and order the 10pin a/v optical to the yellow white & red a/v wires. You also have to order female to female rca connectors in order to plug the 3 connectors coming from your system to the new convertor. Just upgraded to the mini last weekend and with these I am able to hear sound coming from my receiver.
