Right. Back in March 2019 DirecTV removed the ability to remotely download DVR recordings. You must be connected to your home network when downloading recordings.

Very surprised & disappointed Direct TV App took away this option: not able to download to my iPhone XS Max Direct TV app couple of programs I have downloaded on Geni II Tower HS17-500, to watch while away from house for week or two when visiting family out of state or whatever reason.

Direct TV App for Apple products definitely should let me download from my Direct TV account thru their iCloud or server, not just from 2 T-bit hard drive on Geni II.

Yeah, that would be great. But it never worked well, so I think DirecTV gave up on that feature.
