Error code 721

I was receiving  a cable news program yesterday morning, turned TV off to run an errand, came home and had error code 721.  Refreshed the receiver, no change.  Called Directv, they sent a link, refreshed again, no change.  Then, connected to tech support and was finally told it was system generated and it was being worked on and it would be fixed by last night.  Still not working.  Called Directv this am, got offshore personnel. Would like to speak to tech support in the U.S.A.

What channel is it that shows 721? What is your current programming package? Have you tried a red button reset of the receiver (front where it says ‘PUSH’ or side for the HR54 series) ? Also, what is the receiver model? If you have other receivers, do they also show error 721?

There’s no guarantee whether you get a U.S.A agent or an overseas agent. You could try the retention department by saying ‘cancel’ to the robot when calling (number in my greeting below) as most retention agents are not overseas. You may also ask an agent specifically for a non-overseas agent.
