Error while trying to use DirecTV credentials to stream live TV on laptop

Has anyone received an error message (like the one below) when trying to logon using DirecTV credentials to major websites like ESPN, FOX News, CNN, etc. and watch live TV l?

 

I've been streaming in this manner for years and received this message for the first time a couple of days ago.  Since then I've spent 5 hours over the course of 2 days on the phone with 6+ different customer support representatives and still no solution. The management of the issue has been nothing short of incompetent.

 

So, if you get this error, consider yourself screwed.

Are you getting this error message on any other device? Are you streaming using the DirecTV app?

 

 

  • We recommend clearing cache and cookies on your device.
  • If you are using the DirecTV app, we advise you uninstall and reinstall the app.
  • You can also try streaming using another device to see if you get the same error message. 

 

Try this and let us know if it helps.

I tried that early on and it didn't work.

 

On Friday (9/25) Case # L58418634 was issued. I was told someone would get in touch with me via call or e-mail and no one has reached out as of today, Monday (9/28).

 

However, the problem was randomly fixed over the weekend, but I don't know how it was fixed and no one has followed up.
