Experience the ESPN App -- STOP!
This popup is annoying enough, often times stopping me from changing the channel on my HR44 until it appears.
It usually just appears after changing to an ESPN channel. But today it's popping up about every 35 seconds!!
How do I make this stop?

Hello @ferdberferd Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
You can try to reset your equipment by unplug and plug it back after 30 seconds in order to refresh it.
Let us know how it goes.

I've tried resetting the HR44 twice now, still seeing the stupid ESPN popup every ~35 seconds.

Just to update the thread.....no solution from DTVhelp except try hitting the EXIT button when the popup appears. Of course that makes it pop up every 10 SECONDS instead of every 35 seconds.

Now they've suggested that I install the app so that somehow the network knows I did and will stop bugging me. Then I can uninstall the app.
Only problem, there IS NO APP. It's just a screen that allows one to see all of the ESPN channels at once and select them, or select recorded content to replay. Nothing to "install".

They have no clue and it's gotten worse lately. They read from scripts. 90% of the solutions for anything involve red buttons.
I suggest a tech come to your house - do you have a service plan with us? /s
Weirder - I logged out and in on the same e-mail, and the user name has reverted to knicks_fan, not my name. Ah AT&T!!

After 24 hrs of ridiculous suggestions and comments from DTV they now claim it's ESPN's fault. This, despite the fact that I can't find anyone else on the Internet complaining about this problem.

I suspect this message is actually coming from your TV. What TV do you have?

A pop up from the tv wouldn’t prevent changing channels on the DTV receiver.

It does on my HR-44. It is not coming from my Samsung Smart TV as I have seen this same flavor of messages for years from DirecTV.
Specifically, from the time a ESPN (or Sunday Ticket) channel is selected, to the time the pop-up appears, my remote locks up.

sandblaster, you are correct. But why does no-one else see this problem?

As has been said, it is definitely coming from the HR44. If I disconnect the HR44's network connection so there is no Internet, then there is no popup. Of course that also stops "watch from the beginning" or OnDemand from working so not a good solution.
And to be clear, my complaint is not that the original popup stops the remote from working. That's been an ongoing situation. The issue is that the ESPN "Experience" keeps showing up over and over and over.
@knicks_fan Hope you have a lot of time to waste if you get into a DM with these folks.
