No one here knows, we are just customers like you. DIRECTV is not responsible for FOX and the channel owners. The channel owners are greedy and want more and more money from TV providers like DIRECTV.

Even if you cancel and go somewhere else, that doesn’t exempt you from the issue. Any TV provider can experience this.

Guess so.

To cancel call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and say ‘cancel’ to the robot to be sent to the retention/loyalty department.

Please realize that no TV providers are immune to these greedy network owners. You can switch providers, but it will likely happen with your new provider, too. The only safe bet is an off-air antenna.

@65vette

New provider it it is!

And will you cancel with each provider every time this happens? All TV providers go through channel negotations. This is just DirecTV's turn with your local Fox affiliate. Unfortunately, local channels are more commonly pulling the feed to further raise rates.

My position is why should TV providers (and we customers as affects our bill), keep paying mroe and more for channels that are free over the regular airways? I say use a antenna to get your free locals within range while negotiations are ongoing. Most of us don't go to pay TV for the free locals.

For info on the specific negotiations: https://www.directv.com/tvpromise/

It is not Fox itself that is the issue. The OP's local affiliate station of Fox pulled the feed as they and DirecTV negotiate the new carriage agreement.

Not all local channels are owned by the main networks themselves. So your local Fox is not under the same affiliate owner as the OP.

Well this thread is regarding the OP's local Fox affiliate. Has nothing to do with the Newsmax situation.

Very sad that we will not be able to watch the Super Bowl! I would think that the advertisers would be unhappy that they are paying $7M for commercials that won’t reach a lot of their customers! WHEN are we going to get Fox back??

The "WHEN" is when your local Fox affiliate allows the feed back. Most likely that will not happen until a new agreement is reached. Nobody knows the true "when" until it happens.
