Genie internet connect

Upgrade today yeah!  Genie & 3 clients, one new HD box. I posted 8/7 for upgrade info and got so much help. Ty Juniper!  According to the Internet settings, I am connected to my network (setup successful). BUT When I go to on demand, tells me to connect to internet. Tried so many times!  Result code 88-450.

I did not get the WVB for the H23 we kept.  Will see if hubby wants it to be able to watch my list.

How do I found out what clients are named? Tech did it. I named one since I set up (with a little bit of help from tech)  a smart tv that's been in a box for 6 yrs! TG it works, warranty done!!

Your Genie will take 24 to 48 hours to fill the vod and full guide --your connected to your local internet --FINE --WAIT and the VOD will build over time

Video on demand (example) channel 1256 in your guide --

WVB --wireless Video Bridge --only wireless clients can connect to a WVB --Not your home network.

you will need to go to the H23 and use the remote and (name that location) in the whole home menu (example) Bedroom --

The the only thing the H23 can do is view the playlist from the genie and play any recorded content on the genie in that room.

your genie should be connected Wired or wireless to your home internet (NOT THE WVB) and that is how the internet gets to your other receivers through the genie .

VOD = video on demand

You most likely need a Deca Home Adapter to split the internet signal off the coax to feed the Ethernet port on the H23,  DTV should be able to send you one or order it online.

Goldw1800 (name reminds me of something) .  I googled VOD, I'm good.  "the H23 and use the remote and (name that location)"  I did that.  " The the only thing the H23 can do is view the playlist from the genie and play any recorded content on the genie in that room."  Which room, H23 or genie room?  Genie says it's connected to home internet but on demand not working. I will check 24 hrs, then 25 26, JK.  And what did you miss? shannon02, TY! That would prob work. Hubby not a tv show person (news, sports & Id channel) but some times he wants something! Deca Home Adapter cheap enough on AMz. Why would I need to split? Looks like it connect to coax coming in house

THE HR23 can only watch all the channels in your package until the DECA Home Adapter is connected then will be able to use Whole Home from the Genie to watch recorded programs and On Demand and setup recordings.  DTV uses MOCA to add the internet and Whole Home to the coax and the H23 came out before they went to it so it doesn't have the circuits to use it built in so they made the DECA Home Adapter to do it.

That is called a DECA BB and is used to add the internet to the coax and no you don't need the DECA BB just the one without the power supply as the HR23 will power it
