Grey box on the channel guide
As of Friday, 10/25/19, every time I pull up the channel guide, a grey box appears, pointing to the top channel on the list with three choices - "Select" for On Demand Programs, "Info" for Cannel list view, and "play/pause" for Tune Channel. I can't see the program listed behind the box, and can't get it to go away. If this is a permanent new feature, please explain how to turn it off. Apparently, many of the channels now have + signs in the upper right corner on the guide, as well. If these are related, please take the + signs away!

Can you post a photo?
What DVR/Receiver model number do you have?
Perhaps this is coming from your Smart TV?

@ddalbini - The same thing you described started happening on our DirectTV last night. Did you find a solution?
@litzdog911 Here's a picture...

That must be something new. I haven't seen that on my HR44. Does it go away if you press EXIT?

That is the same grey box. I wasn't able to get my pic onto a reply earlier... I'll try a reset as well. Thanks!

AT&T: Is there any other solution other the user-provided fix of resetting the receiver?

We're here to help, @chelement3.
Just to clarify have you already tried resetting your DVR? If you have, we recommend refreshing your DirecTV channels and service to reauthorize and refresh your service.
Try this and let us know if it helps.

Thank you. Yes, the reset did solve the problem. It just seemed strange that a year after the original report via this thread rebooting the system was the best (or maybe only) solution. Time to move on.

We're glad that fixed your problem, @chelement3! That popup being stuck onscreen is a fairly rare glitch. It does occasionally happen: like almost all consumer electronics, the DirecTV receiver does need reset from time-to-time to refresh and reload the software.
Thanks again for the update, @chelement3, and have an awesome rest of your day!
