Has the new D12 Satellite launched in December gone live?
My wife brought to my attention that our SD TIVO DVR was displaying in the guide that STARZ Channels 520, 521, 522 & 523 have moved to Channels 526, 527, 528 & 529(I'm posting from memory, so the numbers might be wrong, but I think you get what I'm saying). I had read some posts recently that mentioned that some Showtime Channels had changed numbers as well(I don't subscribe to Showtime so I don't know the numbers or extent of those changes are). When I checked the HD receiver last night in the adjacent room it showed the STARZ channels on the new numbers in it's guide but did not have a "message" in the guide under the old numbers telling you about the move. What is the deal on musical premium channel numbers? Are some of these channels being moved to the new D12 satellite??
Also, on a similar topic....I recently upgraded my DSL Internet service through my local area's phone service company(TDS Telecom) and noticed that aside from them previously offering a "bundle" that included Dish Network they had begun to offer their own TV service via fiber optic in some parts of my area(similar to the FIOS and UVERSE offerings by other "phone companies"). I checked their website for the TV programming and when looking at the Channel Guide of programming offered I noticed that it included channels for "HBO Family HD", "HBO Signature HD" and "HBO Zone HD". I subscribe to HBO(and HD) through DirecTV and the only HBO HD channels I get are HBO East HD and HBO West HD. Now that I know that "other providers" offer "additional" HBO HD channels that DirecTV does not offer, can I expect to receive additional HBO HD's via the new satellite(of course I understand that users including the TECHKNOWGUIDE's are not given that info I'm just hoping someone has heard a "rumor"). It is kinda disappointing that a fledgling "upstart TV service" like the TDS Telecom service are offering HBO HD channels that DirecTV doesn't offer.
