HDMI & 3D

New audio and video system included a WYRESTORM 4x4 HDMI matrix switch. HDMI cable from sat receiver to matrix switch. TV connected with 18" HDMI cable, and cat 6 cable from switch to this hdni cable. Same exact set uo with Samsung 3d blu ray player. Wonderful pic from blu ray but no 3d reception from DTV. Had to disable  4x4 switch and run a 40' hdmi cable to get reception. What is DTV doing that prohibits the signal from being delivered? Again, the SAME set up works beautifully with the 3d blu ray. I don't understand as the switch only switches the signal that is sent to it. Any info appreciated

The switch interferes with the handshake. It's the switch that affects the signal. Think about it. If it was something DirecTV did, it wouldn't work with a direct connection either. Blu-Ray 3D requires an HDMI 1.4 cable but DirecTV works with any HDMI cable. It's a different communication method. Some brand new design switches and HDMI switching AVRs will work but older ones will not.

No guarantees but a switch that advertises HDMI 1.4 compliance might. That's a very new standard so compliant devices can be very expensive, http://www.hdtvsupply.com/hdmi-matrix-switch-cat5.html shows one. You could probably get an AVR with HDMI 3D support for that much. Yep. http://www.buy.com/prod/av-receiver-6-in-2-out/q/loc/111/217447549.html is a good one.
