help with on-demand
i am not savvy with this stuff. i want on-demand to watch shows on channels like hbo on demand and comedy central etc. possibly showtime. i got to the part where it says due to my box i need to connect my router to my cable box with a coaxial cable. problem is, my verizon fios router is in my basement all set up and wired. its a wireless router but i really cant move it from the basement.
so, if i cant connect my upstairs hd dvr reciever to my wireless router in the basement, how can i move forward with connecting to direct tv on demand.
i used to have time warner cable and the on-demand was a billion times easier.

directv should have provided you with the internment connection kit when they did your installation. if the y did not, call them back to complete the job. the installer would run a coax from your router location to anywhere in the DTV coax tree. this will connect your WHDVR system to the internet.
cable was easier since they provide the internet as well as the TV. so the internet signals are readily available at the cable boxes. DTV instead needs to rely on you to provide the internet connection.

They made me pay for the connection kit when I moved, and I have no YouTubes available as of this connection 5 days ago. This all seems like a huge big rip off! No one from Directv can help me, just apologise. I paid for this kit, and it is useless! I want a refund!!!!

You'll need to call DirecTV about the refund. We're customers like you, not DirecTV employees.
Best to start your own new thread using the "Create New Post" button on the main forum page. Your problem may very well be different from the original poster's. With a new thread you can provide more information about your equipment, location, and troubleshooting you've tried so far. And this forum software makes it difficult to track or respond to folks that add onto someone else's thread.
