How do I get the damned ads for HBO to stop covering the screen of my favorite TV shows until I click them off. It’s irritating!!!

I‘m watching my favorite evening TV programs and every 10 or 15 mintes full screen ads for HBO Max, America’s Got Talent, and all sorts of other ads keep blocking my program picture until I click it off to get back to my program picture. What the heck is going on? BTW...I’m also upset that I can‘t get a chat person online and I can‘t speak on the phone.
