hr24-500 error 13

I just had my system installed when i hooked up the ethernet cable from my Linksys WRT54GS router to my reciever hr24-500 I get error 13 on the internet connection. anyone have any ideas what the issue is? I talked to tech support and they told me that I don't need the module to connect to the internet. I am totaly lost any help would be greatly appreciated.
