I don't know, I've seen suggestions that it might.  However, are you aware that in order to get a HR34 (when they are released maybe next month) you'll need an entire house update?  They will not work with any existing receivers or DVR's.

Actually DCD they will apparently work with other DVRs and receivers in a WHDVR setup, although that isn't their primary purpose.

Hmmm, good to know.  After doing some more reading it appears that you're correct (as is the norm).  I don't follow DBS on a regular basis so I miss out on some of the first looks etc.  I may need to amend my ways.

Not sure this user has any hope of receiving one just to use PIP, not for this football season anyway.

Yes, we have lots of info on the HR34, from several different sources including a recent visit to the CEDIA show. A lost of this info is "semi-public". But even at that show, some erroneous information was given to a visitor to the DirecTV booth. I don't think it will be very long before there is a "first look" at the HR34 published on the dbstalk web site, and then the features won't be just speculation. Based on what we do know, PIP should certainly be a feature.

Of course, we don't have an availability date yet. And it could easily be that the HR34 will only be initially available for new installs where DirecTV is installing the new client boxes as well as the server.
