i do not see Connect Now under Network Setup
I am tiring to get media sharing to work on my hr21 receiver. the media sharing instructions say to go into receiver setup, select "network" and then select "connect now". i do not see that option. direct2pc is working fine as well as streaming video.

Unfortunately the instructions you are looking at are no longer valid. If you have Directv2PC going then Mediashare may be up as well. Press the "menu" button on your HD DVR's remote and look for a "Music etc." option. If you see it, that's Mediashare. If it isn't present, then you need to configure your computer to share. What operating system are you running? The share procedure varies with Windows versions.

Open Windows Media Player -> stream -> put check mark on center two items -> more streaming options -> allow all. The do Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> homegroup and sharing -> check all 5 boxes under share. Temporarily disable the firewall on your computer and do a red button (inside card door) reset of the HD DVR. When it boots up, press menu and look for a "music etc" option.
