If roofer moves dish do I need a service call?

Roofer moving dish today and said I probably need a service call even though they put it back where it was.

well the roofer probably doesn't know how to install a DIRECTV dish and probably peak it, which is why they said to do so. Just because the dish is re-mounted doesn't mean it is properly aimed or wired or even tightened with the bolts!

No one can replace the dish exactly where it was so yes it has to be realigned.  You are aiming at a school bus 23,000 miles away.

Well not exactly ‘no one.’ Just the pros at DIRECTV and some of the ACEs here on the forum. If you want to DIY then there are videos on YouTube to do so. The satellite 101 has a wide beam so it’s not IMPOSSIBLE.

Will Directv even service a dish on the roof? I thought that stopped with becoming part of ATT due to OSHA rules. The OP may need the dish totally relocated or find someone locally to align the dish.

If it is on the edge and reachable from a ladder then DTV will service it but if on the roof then yes they will have to mount a new dish where it can be serviced.
