Isedora Trickplay and the HR24

I saw a bunch of posts on trickplay functionality and Isedora but they are all from 2010. I am unable to get trick play working with my HR24 or H24. I emailed Isedora site and there response was :"We're not much aware of TrickPlay, suppose that it requires rather firmware support, not a software. iSedora was much tested by our customers with DirecTV HR20,21 and 23, it should support FF & RW on these boxes"

I checked my receivers and they are all updated with latest firmware. Has anyone gotten Isedora or any media server application for the PC to do trickplay currently?

The biggest drawback to Mediashare is that trick play is not supported.  I'm not familiar with the software you mention, but I can't recall a single post that ever said they had trick play working.

It's so freaking ridiculous that I'm looking through posts that are well over a year old and DirecTV has still not addressed this issue. I mean really how freakin' hard is it for them to update the software and send out an update? It's really lame, especially when this company claims to have the best customer service and equipment.

Come on DirecTV what are you waiting for?

This is a user to user technical help forum and Directv does not participate.  If you wish to complain you'll need to contact them directly.

I seriously doubt that this program will ever have trick play.  It isn't designed for long videos but the advance button does work on photos and music.

I use iSedora on my Mac and trickplay doesn't work, nor did I expect it to.  AFAIK, it only worked with the now-obsolete Intel Viiv, which required a PC with a unique chipset.

Oh yes, the infamous Viiv.  I never did meet or speak to anyone who actually had one, or to anyone who had ever known anyone who actually had one.  When this feature surfaced I asked Directv when they would re write it for normal PC's and never received an answer, so I doubt they will rewrite the software now allowing trick play.
