Lag time

Upgraded about 2 months ago to HD service. But since then I the lag time between changing channels has been annoying. I didn't know if this was normal or not. I have to say it takes a good 7-10 seconds for each HD channel to load, is it my set up (direct tv installed all) or is something else wrong?
