You can watch live content on your computer, yes. What OS does your computer have?

Some channels can be streamed on your computer using your DirecTV account credentials. But recordings cannot be viewed on a computer. 

I have a HP with Windows10 Home & a ThinkPad Windows 10 Pro.

As mentioned, the best you can do is stream some channels via their website/app using your DirecTV login credentials. No way to view DVR recordings on a PC. 

OK Thanks. I was thinking the 'play list' on computer may of been the same as 'recorded list' on the HR54 box. I was thinking there was away to save/transfer recordings to a laptop.

Sadly, no. Once upon a time there was an app called DirecTV2PC that provided that capability, but it's long dead.
