Line of Sight.. my installer was terrible!! Argh
I need to figure out the best setup for my DirecTv dish because obviously my installer couldnt. I ordered the Hi-Def Dish and all that jazz.. everything DirecTv offers. the guy comes out and first thing he says is he cannot do an HD dish because I dont have a good enough line of Sight. He didnt bother trying to mount it on the roof, where there would be a better line of sight. The guy just installs a regular dish on the ground. Before he could even do it, I had to cancel my account and re-register my changed equipment. And, to wit, they tacked on an extra 100 out of pocket that I didnt pay before that I must do a mail-in rebate to get back.
Now, today everything got setup in just over 4 hours and 30 minutes (thats got to be a long time even for an install); my dish wouldnt give me local channels. None of them, finally we reset the box and got them to show up. Now, on to my question to your guys..
I have a tech support guy coming out to my house on Monday morning to check the setup I have. I want him to check and see if they can install an HD dish on my apartment's roof or balcony or something. What should I have ready to show this tech support guy to try and figure out this line of sight thing. I mean the trees are 100 yards down the road but they are a little tall. What is the best place to start?? I NEED HI-DEF!!!! Thanks
