List of What Satellite a Direct TV channel is on?

Checking signal strength is good, but means nothing if I do not know what channel or even better channel/transponder a specific channel is on.

There should be a list of channels with their satellite assignments, with transponder,  so you cancheck that satellite and signal strength for a given channel.

For example, with a 400 Mbps Ethernet connection, when I rewind and stream I get pixeling on channel 568, Sony HD.

I can not find a list anywhere.

This is not the satellite forum but the Internet streaming forum.

This is a streaming question.  Pixelation, I need to check what sat 568 in on.

This is not a sat question.

This should be something that DTV should be able to supply.

It makes no sense to check for sat signal with a streaming issue when you do not know what sat and transponder the channel is.

It doesn't matter what sat or transponder the channel is on as you are getting the programing from the internet from that channels server not from the satellites and you can't tune a single transponder.

Right. It makes no sense to check satellite signal readings if you're having a streaming issue. So please clarify .... Do you have DirecTV Satellite or DirecTV Stream service?

This is a streaming question.  Pixelation, I need to check what sat 568 in on.

This is not a sat question.

That is a contradiction. You are asking a question about what sat a channel is on. But you say you have pixilation, seemingly during streaming.

DirecTV channels are from their own proprietary satellite, having nothing to do with internet. The satellite signal has nothing to do with you receiving a channel from a streaming method.

DIRECTV STREAM is a streaming only service. Though also owned by AT&T, it has nothing to do with channels delivered by satellite. They are two different providers. This service is delivered by whatever home internet you have.

So there is no such thing as DirecTV satellite signal strength for a streaming issue.

This about my Satellite service, not DTV streaming service.  Tuned into a movie on Sony 567 about half way.  I did a rewind and stream to watch the movie.  That feature is available for that channel.  I know it is streaming because if I try to record DTV tells me that you can not record a streaming movie.

DTV Streaming playback is giving me a lot of picture breakup on this channel, pixels, and others as well when I do a rewind and stream.

This could be because i have a dish alignment problem, or an internal download connection issue, that I do not have.  However, I have no idea what satellite or transponder SonyHD is on to check the Sat.  I stream using other services no issues and internet is key to streaming performance.  If you a bad, slow connection you will have streaming issues.  Direct TV is the only one with streaming issues.

@rlmyers the most I can tell you is that Sony is on 103 (cb) so check your readings on that satellite.

However, the satellite dish misalignment pretty much has nothing to do with rewinding a channel’s content because that is through streaming as you stated earlier.

If streaming works great in your home except for that channel, then I would see if this happens on other channels as well when you try to rewind their content.

If it does, then it is most certainly either a receiver related issue or an issue with how the receiver is connected to the Internet, whether it be wirelessly or wired via Ethernet. It is also worth trying a red button reset of that receiver. This can be found on the front where it says ‘PRESS’ or the right side by the access card on the HR54 series.

Once restarted, it takes 24-48 hours for on-demand and rewind to populate fully.

If the rewind pixelation occurs only on 567, that would lead toward a problem on DIRECTV’s side so you should call them and let them know.

Hello, @rlmyers. We want to make sure you have access to your favorite programming.

We can check into your equipment, let's try to refresh your receivers:

1. Go to My equipment & services.
2. Review the equipment you have and identify the impacted receiver(s).
3. Select Refresh receiver to begin. This takes a minute or two and may briefly interrupt your service.

Let us know how it goes, we are going to be here for you.

Start from the beginning and On Demand also uses the channels internet servers not the satellite so it still doesn't matter what sat/transponder it uses.

Ok, now we have the info that clears up the confusion.

When you use the restart from beginning feature, that streams from the internet just like if you were using the On Demand version of the channel. That does not come from the satellite itself. As such, your satellite signal strength will not affect it at all.

If you get pixelation after using the restart feature, that is an issue with it being delivered from your internet. That would either be an issue with the connection between the DirecTV box and your router, the speed and quality of your internet coming in, or the upload and path the show takes from the channel's online servers through all the different networks to get to your home.

I have had trouble using the rewind feature on several channels with pixels, screen breakup.  When I run the internet speed test results are great internet connection stream with full HD.   The receivers are hardwired to a Linksys MX5300 Gigabit Ethernet Port connected to the router servicing the HR44 and 4 C51-100's.

Wireless speeds are in excess of 400Mbps.

However, all devices are directly connected to the router using DIRECTV DECA receiver II Ethernet-to-coax adapter with a SWM.

I do not understand this pixel issue with rewind and stream.

If it has nothing to do with dish signal then what are the other possible problems.

I did do a refresh on the HR44.

Thanks to all.
