Local channels do not record

We've had problems recording local Denver channels (4, 7, 9).  The shows we record give us a 721 error.  When we "on demand" it, we are told that 390 is not in our package and we can't watch the show for at least 1 and some shows over 2 weeks.  We hate watching commercials and when you on demand a show, you can't fast-forward thru them.  We've reported this multiple times and get different answers.  I'm not sure who we talk to even understands the issue and merely read from a script w/ possible answers.  They even told us to upgrade to new receivers and that would fix it - it didn't and I am locked into a 2 year contract.  Anyone else experience this and know of any fixes?

Hi @crazy_julie, here's some troubleshooting tips to help with error code 721.

  1. Unplug your receiver's power cord from the electrical outlet, wait for 15 seconds, and plug it back in.
  2.  Press the Power button on the front panel of your receiver. Wait for your receiver to reboot.
  3.  Go to My Equipment to refresh your receiver again.
On Demand commercials vary depending on the network and the programming. Go here for more help with on demand commercials.

Hi @crazy_julie.  Thanks for reaching out on this.  We have seen some customers running into this problem, and we are working to resolve as quickly as possible.

Until a solution is live, there is a work around that should resolve the problem.

  1. Delete the series recordings you already have in place for these shows in your recording manager
  2. Use the guide to find the show on the specific time and date that it airs.  As an example, if it airs on Channel 4 at 8pm on Sunday nights, use the guide to look ahead until that specific airing. (don't use the search option to find the show)
  3. Once you have the show highlighted on the specific time and date, then hit record once for a single episode, or twice for the series

This should resolve the issue until a fix can be implemented.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks

If those local channels are trying to record on a 300 channel then you have to setup manual recording until the fix is found.
