local channels
Is there a way to find out when our area (Wilmington, NC) local channels will be HD? I was not aware that they weren't when we upgraded to HD. The HD channels look great, but SD not so good. Also wondering if there are other ABC,NBC, etc. stations that are in HD available.

No, none of us have that info. We're customers like you. DirecTV rarely announces new channels in advance.

I just didn't know if there was any other way to get ABC,NBC, etc. in HD if local channels were not in HD.

What model Receiver do you have? Look for the label on the rear panel or behind the front panel access card door.
