long file name

when i open the files in media share in the hr24 all of the file names are very long. when i open tversity,media share,data,download, the file names are the same. how do i shorten them? example: http___feedproxy.google.com_~r_hubblecast_fullhd_~5_rFcbom2L4tg_heic0901a.mp4, you get the ideal and this is the way it is rendered on my tv. how can i shorten it so i can see just the name of the file. also can anyone tell how to use windows snippet tool to post to this forum  because when i tried to copy and paste the above example it would not work? thanks, larry
