Looking forward to this but.....

I am a new Direct TV customer as of Jan. this year. I have all my receivers connected to my home network and now appear to be waiting for the H21 software updates to reach Texas. I hope Direct TV allows those of us who have our system already networked to keep this system even if it without support. I do not want to spend money to add equipment when my system should work fine with the Beta setup. I also hope that the price is not too much for the MVR service when the BETA is through. I switched to Direct TV to save money from cable and do not want to add much to what I am paying. It seems that this service should be free if someone is capable of maintaining the network requirements without Direct TV support. Hopefully market forces and competition will make this service free later.
