MPEG-TS Audio Settings?

Hi,

I am trying to hand-craft an mpeg-ts file that will play on my DirecTV over DLNA.  So far I have had limited success.  I have been able to get video working fine, but, it seems that no matter what audio settings I feed into the transcoder, all I get is 'choppy sound' (Sound is intermittent and only of a fraction of a second with big gaps).  Does anybody have the exact specs for the video and audio settings that the DirecTV devices will accept?

For instance:

Sample frequency, Codec, bitrate, combined bitrate etc. etc.

I am using VLC to transcode the settings and have used a52, mp3, mpga, and mp2a as the audio input but, no success.

Any ideas greatly received.

Regards

WellyB
