no Internet connection

Before I had WHDVR installed all my receivers were connected through my home network to the Internet. Now nothing will connect to the Internet on the DIRECTV side of things. All of my computers, PS3,and Wii do. The BB adaptor which is the wired version has 3 lights lit. I have gone through the outlined deca reset procedure that I read in other posts with the same problem 2X. The DHCP router table has an IP address for all 4 receivers. They all say network connected but no Internet on the receiver info tab. Any thoughts on what I could be missing.

If the DECA BB Adapter is connected to the system AFTER the receivers and DVR's are activated, the configuration process does not complete properly. The reason being that the boxes get their initial IP settings from the SWM system rather than the router. A reset is designed to correct this. Before you begin you must be positive that the BB adapter is connected to a live coax feed from the splitter.
First thing to try is resetting the DECA network....it must be done in this order. Before you begin, assure that DHCP is enabled on your router if your system is connected to the Internet. This is essential.
1. Disconnect AC power from each DVR and Receiver
2. Disconnect power from the DECA BB Adapter (black or white DECA BB box) or wireless adapter.
3. Disconnect power from the SWM dish Power Inserter (do you know where yours is located)?
4. Disconnect then reconnect AC power on your home network gateway/router and modem.
5. Wait a few minutes for the router to reset
6. Re-power the SWM Power Inserter.
7. Re-power the DECA Broadband Adapter or wireless adapter.
8. Re-power each DVR and Receiver
Following that, press and hold the info button on one DVR, then select more system info. Scroll down and check that Internet is listed as connected.

Thanks, will try the total reset again. Might be 24 -36 hours till I get a chance to do it with the holiday and all. What will show up on my router DHCP table for the BB adaptor as a description? Will it lable itself like the receivers do? I am also going to try a different ethernet cable. The cable worked when it was direct to the receiver before the WHDVR was installed, but you never know.

The BB adapter doesn't show as a client on my DHCP table, it's strictly an adapter and not a device. Each of your HD boxes will show up as individual clients though.

Tried reset once again, same result. All computers on my network connect right away, nothing on the coax side. All receivers have an ip address on the router. In system setup all 4 receivers say connected to network, but not connected (13) to internet.

On the HR24 try this. If it connects, do the rest of the HD boxes.
Menu -> .....setup -> system setup -> network setup -> restore defaults -> connect now. You should get a "connected to Internet" message. Allow 24 hours for the system to download then try downloading a concert from channel 1239 as a test.

Still no internet connection, that is 4x that I did the outlined reset proceedure with no sucess. What else can I try, WHDVR still works and that is what I wanted in the first place. An internet connection makes PPV alot easier to order, without it I can no longer watch recorded shows on my computer with DIRECTV2PC. Could the BB adapter be bad? Router knows all 4 receivers are there, but they will not connect to the rest of my CAT 5 network. Should I call DIRECTV and speak to their so called tech support, I feel I get better info through this forum.

What occurred when you ran the exercise outlined in post #6? Understand that the situation you are experiencing is unique to your system so you need to be our "eyes" so we might see your problem. If you can see the four DVR's in the DHCP client list on the router then I'd say they are connected to your network. Any possibility you have two sub nets set up and the DVR's are on a different net?

Sorry, I realize you are working with my typed response and the difficulties it causes. When I reset the receivers it will always come back with an IP address starting with 169.###.###.### subnet mask 255.255.0.0. My Cat network has a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and an IP address range of 192.168.1.100 thru .174. Would changing the subnet mask on the receiver and putting the default gateway address in correct it? I have never changed all receivers at once to see if that worked.

My dog tripped the power strip my router is on. Of course the DHCP table reset. I went to the HR22 and hit connect, within seconds it connected to the internet with the IP address shown on the router.I have connected all four of my receivers. This went against the outlined reset proceedure but it worked maybe it can help someone else. Thanks for your help.

Apparently you did not do all of the outlined steps in the reset procedure, among which was #4 to wit.
"4. Disconnect then reconnect AC power on your home network gateway/router and modem."
Resetting the router is an integral part of the reconfiguration process so as to clear the bad settings. In any event I'm glad you're up and running but you really didn't need to rely on the pooch.
