no signal/ check input

When I pause or change channels I get the message no signal/check input.  It doesn't happen all the time just randomly.  When I select play it goes away or starts playing after a couple of seconds.  I upgraded to but the Directv tech didn't do anything wthe cables.

Sounds like something that the TV is showing, not the actual DIRECTV box. What receiver model were you upgraded to? Is your TV on the right HDMI input? Are you receiving a specific error code or does the TV itself simply say ‘No signal?’

I have a Genie 3, Model HR54-700. The code I receive say No signal. Check the external input or select another input. When the Directv tech installed the 4k genie he didn't change the input of the cable to the tv. The message doesn't always show up,it's intermittent,  then it goes way and the pic comes back. It happens changing channels or on pause. Thanks,  Tom

The cables are tight, the input is 3, tuner 1, ARC. New cable from to the receiver. The cable to the tv was not replaced that I know. It just does this on pause and changing channels. It is intermittent.

Thanks,

Tom

The HR54 doesn't have the proper HDMI port to output 4K so any 4K TVs have to have a C61K connected to them.

The HR54 only gets the 4K channels to watch them in 4K you need the C61K mini client there is no HR54 mini client.

So which box is connected to that TV?  The HR54 or the C61K 4K Mini Genie?

Sounds like it's an HDMI handshake issue between the TV and DirecTV box.

C61K 4k, the cable between the receiver and the tv was not replaced.  The Directv Tech left the cable and plugged it into to receiver.

You might try a different HDMI cable. Be sure that it's 4K compatible.
