no start up buffer on new receiver
I had a couple of HR24 receivers. One suffered a BSOD and was replaced by an HR54R1/500 receiver. Previously when starting up either receiver, there would be 90 minutes of buffer on whatever station was tuned. The new receiver has zero buffer when starting. Is this typical? It sounds like a step backwards. I have tried resetting by pressing the red button on the side and having it restart. No change. Thanks for any words of wisdom....

There is still a buffer on the HR54, but since it is a Genie it works differently as the minis grab any tuner but not the buffer. When placed in standby mode all the buffers are released so in order to have one you need to leave it on the channel.
