Not Missing NBC

At first I was disappointed to see that NBC was missing due to contract issues. As time has passed I am finding that I am NOT missing NBC, replacing it with other sources, e.g., Peacock and NFL+ Premium. Hoping DIRECTV stays the course and negotiates for lower pricing. I do not want to see an increase in fees for more channels, channels that I don't watch!

It’s always good to have alternatives when these contract disputes happen between companies like Tegna demanding almost double for channels that can be received for free with an OTA (over the air) antenna.

I’m glad you were able to work your way through the dispute without having the NBC blackout cause you issues. DIRECTV is continually negotiating with Tegna to attempt to keep prices the same for customers.

It is nice to see someone not complaining for a change!  I wish there were more people on the forum like you hopefully when they work it out our bill will not go up anymore.  But only time will tell!

A refreshing perspective indeed. Using alternatives to mix in with DirecTV is a valid way to go. And watching other content is another option. I feel too many people have convinced themselves that their lives aren't worth anything if they don't have a specific local or two.

Unfortunately we will probably continue to see the annual price adjustment. Costs of everything, not just from these negotiations, go up. Seems to be an endless spiral. Wish those that are desperate for the locals would pay the specific increase themselves, but they are not itemized like taxes or RSNs and instead averaged out across all of us as a part of the base package.

Definitely would like DirecTV not to cave to higher rates. Hopefully this is short lived like it was with Tegna 3 years ago and they don't mimic Nexstar.
