On Demand movie stopped while in the middle of watching / downloading

I was watching an On Demand movie this evening when the movie suddenly stopped. I noticed that the download (record) light was also off, so I checked my list of downloads. The movie was not listed. I called and all I got was, "oh sorry, that movie must have expired". Well if it was about to expire, why the heck did the stupid software allow me to start downloading and watching it? You would think that the software could be smart enough to check that. What was really great was that the only thing tech support had to say was "sorry that shouldnt happen". Well for someone that spent $130 last month on DirecTV service, I expect a little more than that when I am 2/3 of the way through a movie and it suddenly disappears. What kind of cra**y service is that?
