OnDemand, networks removed?

We noticed a month ago that A bunch of networks were removed from OnDemand-example Food network, all reg. broadcast networks like NBC, ABC, etc.  Does anyone know why? We only have dvr for two programs, & usually end up going to OnDemand to watch the shows we couldn't dvr. But now-pretty much nothing left OnDemand anyways.

Just had to come back & let people know, I...yes, I fixed the issue with OnDemand.  As someone who used to have issues when wifi came about, & not getting enough signal strength in our humble abode-I thought I wonder if that is part of the problem. Even though we had been doing just fine for 6 years with the wifi and our dish. Not to mention on the screen it would say we had internet it was all fine. And the customer service people on the phone told us to do all the usual things. Except.....maybe try switching out the wifi with an ethernet & see if that helps. Voila!  So anyone else have that OnDemand issue, of which I know many do. If you have not already try going hard wired & see if that helps. Yes, you have to reset & make sure you switch it-internet-on screen-then wait a few days for it to upload again.

Hi @budboy1217, we want to give you valuable content you can watch all the time.  It's good to know you are enjoying your On-demand service. Regarding those networks, we are working with the broadcaster who owns these local channels to reach an agreement since they are under negotiations. No worries, you may be able to watch Food Network in CH 231 and certain shows by using the station's websites or mobile apps such as NBC.com, NBCsports.com, ABC.com, CBS.com, CBSsports.com. For latest updates, please visit TV Promise | Missing channels on DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM, or U-verse? . Thanks for contacting DIRECTV 💙. Edgar, DIRECTV Community Specialist

The channels control their On Demand channels not DTV.  As stated if the channel is in a contract dispute they remove them and the channel feed to DTV.

Are you saying no on demand content or sparse on demand content for the channels you mention? I’m seeing plenty of on demand content for ABC, NBC and Food Network, including shows recently aired. Have you rebooted your receivers lately? A reboot will cause the on demand list to re-download which can take a few days.

Yes, we could watch on apps-but they're not connected to the tv-which is where we watch tv. I get the contract disputes, as well as Directv not being "responsible"....to a point.

We rebooted about a month ago, then we had a storm & it rebooted again last weekend. I know sometimes it can get screwing with the content. But like I said it was last month we noticed, & even after this last reboot-same.

On Demand uses the internet so your Anti virus or firewall may be blocking them or the ports are not open.

We don't watch on the computer, just regular tv.  I checked with friends who have it & they said the same thing-no OnDemand from Food network or Cooking Channel or the regular broadcast.  When I have a chance I will call to see if something is up with our package-as we re-upped at about the same time this happened....

Well after being on the phone for quite a while-the tech said he could not find any issues on their end. That perhaps it was a hardware issue. Found out last night it is a WiFi issue in connection to the boxes.  When you bring up internet setup on the tv-& say reconnect...or even do the advanced setting. It will come back & say reconnected and show 24mp.  Except....it apparently is not connected. We went through the diagonistic testing & it is saying not detecting internet...check cables...ethernet.etc.  Press the red button on that box, then try the red button on that box. We did all that-all green lights.  Tech says we may need a new cinema connection kit, because somewhere the "wires" are not connecting from the WiFi to the directv box.    When  exactly are computers supposed to be smarter? Because you would think the tv would not say reconnected & supposedly detect the wifi....if it really didn't. Also we know it's not the wifi because our computer internet is working just fine.
