other 3D channels (besides ESPN3D)

Does anyone know the actual launch date for the 3D channels other than ESPN 3D, such as N3D and the on demand stuff? How much notice will we get?

Apparently even DirecTV doesn't know! You'd think they could give some time frame to these channels. It's suppose to be: N3D ch 103, Cinema ch 104, On Demand ch 105, and ESPN ch 106. Only the last one works. The others give the message "Channel not available" Soooo, when will they be available??

The other channels don't even show up for me.  I can only get Channel 106.

You're right.  They don't show in the guide.  I'm saying if you manually call up ch 104 by using the number pad on your remote, you get the message "channel not available"

Any update as to when the new channels will be available? I am sadly getting tired of 3d soccer... 😞

Also does anyone know what channel the Yankees vs Seattle will be on in July?

Thanks,

Flip

Any word on what channel the Nascar 3D broadcast is going to be on?  I know TNT is sponsoring it, but can they broadcast 3D and non 3D on the same channel?  I would guess they'd have to setup a seperate channel for it, but when I look at the channel lineup/grid it doesn't show anything.

Researching, I was able to answer my own question.  According to Multichannelnews.com, N3D is launching on Thursday, July 1st at 8:30am EST.  Why Directv is not advertising this launch, is anybody's guess.  The launch is in two days, and you can't get any info on it even from their own website.  Doesn't make any sense to me, but it is what it is.  Anyway, I'm quite certain that the Nascar race on July 3rd will be broadcast on N3D.  As much as I've enjoyed the 3D soccer, I'm looking forward to having more variety.  Can't wait!!!

Engadget is reporting it as well, except they're saying the launch time is 9:30am EST, not 8:30am EST.

I read this also but on Yahoo Directv News. They also said July 1, channel 103 N3D at 9:30 am and stated it was a 24 hour 3D channel.  Not listed on my guide yet, I hope it will show up overnight.

Yeah, that's what I mean by the lack of advertising or fanfare regarding the launch.  It's like some big secret.  They must be premiering something so big and exciting, that they don't want ANYONE to know about it.  Personally, I doubt it's going to be anything that earth shattering.  They had ESPN 3D on the guide almost a week in advance, so that's why I'm so surprised behind all of this.  It's not showing up on my guide yet either.  Nor is it showing up on the Directv online grid either.  I'll be getting up tomorrow for the launch, we shall see what happens at that time.

The ONLY thing "earth shattering" would be Avatar in 3D!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's hysterical that you mention "Avatar" because I was thinking the same thing! It'll never happen though!!

n3D was launched on Channel 103 this morning. Dinosaurs in 3D... At least the South Africa Safari documentary tonight at 9pm looks interesting.

We watched the Dinosaurs this AM and were pleased with the 3D images on our Panasonic 3D.  My husband is an afficionado  of the dinosaur

specials that are on frequentlly.  He very much enjoyed this show in 3D but made the comment that the show itself was not very sophisticated compared to other dinosaur productions.  We look forward to the Safari show, we have recorded it and will watch it later.  The clips from the show were quite impressive.
