Paramount plus through direct tv

What's to understand?  At the risk repeating myself:

Do not be confused between:

• Paramount Network
• Paramount Streaming App
• Paramount+ Premium Streaming service

DIRECTV has Paramount Network, a regular old channel, on channel 241.  Yes, you can get that on a package. 

The Paramount Streaming App can be downloaded to cell phones, most streaming devices, and possibly some Smart TVs.  If not available for your TV, then you'll need to get a streaming device (e.g. Fire TV Stick, Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV, etc.) and connect it to an HDMI port on your TV and download the Paramount Streaming App to that so you can run that app.  There is a little free to watch content on the Paramount App.

Paramount+ is a premium streaming service that you have to pay an additional monthly fee for.  As far as I know, no TV provider (such as DIRECTV, Dish, Xfinity, etc.) includes Paramount+ in any of its package deals.  If you pay for it, then you can watch Paramount+ content in the App.

Why should DIRECTV serve as an agent for Paramount+?  What's in it for them?

Paramount plus is a third-party streaming app that requires a compatible device, they handle their own billing system separate from other TV providers. However, you can check the Paramount channels that we handle on our DIRECTV STREAM channel lineup.

Thank you Angela, I have Direct Tv satellite & do have the Paramount channel 241. My tv is a 2013 Vizio that has Amazon, Netflix & Mogo on the remote at the top.  I think what I am hearing is that is it a separate billing for Paramount plus. I just hate that there are so many different new programs that make it hard for the older generation to know how to get what they are wanting as far as new programs.

I was wholly not able to comprehend why you didn't understand why DIRECTV would not provide ordering and payment services for a completely unrelated entity.  So I tried to provide as much explanation as to clarify that there was no relationship.  

Can I stream paramont plus from my computer or iphone to my smart tv ?

Thank you to the ones that had positive comments about the Paramount Plus information.  We purchased 2 Fire Sticks through Best Buy & a subscription through Paramount to view the upcoming series 1883 along with other channels & music.  Hope all in this forum has a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

If I connect to the internet with my genie can I access my paramount plus account, and watch 1883, on my TV through the DTV Genie?

Am in a rural area with no broadband and have to use my cell phone hot spot, with data limits, to access the internet.  So I'm hesitant to waste data connecting my genie without some idea of it's effectiveness.

The  Paramount + is a app that you stream the content.

To my knowledge you can not get Paramount + through your DirecTV equipment.

The Paramount + App can be glitchy for some users. It seems they have their fair share of App issues that compare with DirecTV's App issues.

The easiest way and seemingly problem free Paramount + option is to subscribe through you Amazon Prime account. The first 2 months are 99 cents each and the monthly thereafter is $9.99 monthly Commercial Free.

SUMMARY: Paramount+ is not part of your DIRECTV stream service and the closest thing to watching Paramount+ on DIRECTV is if you have a DIRECTV stream box and install the app on it.
