Pixelation on NBC4 in Washington, D.C.

Is anyone else having pixelation issues with NBC4 in Washington, D.C.? It’s been happening now for several weeks. I’ve had my system checked by a Directv tech and my lnb was replaced, but the issue persists.

Hi @barrydrucker012153 , thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I want to confirm, that there are no outages or know issues ongoing.

Sometimes there is pixelation for weather, nearby appliances and competing signals. Appliances and other electronic devices located near your TV or receiver also emit radio waves that can interfere with your Tv signal, resulting in pixelation, ghosting or blurred images.

Feel free to reach us back if further help is need. We'll happy to help you!

Hi @Wannabe32 we are here to help.

We understand the importance of the NBC4 channel for you. Let's try to Reset your receivers to see if that helps to correct the pixilation.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for keeping us updated, @Wannabe32.

In order to review more options for your situation, could you please confirm whether you are experiencing pixilation on other channels?
If so, are they national or locals?
Do you experience this situation with all your receivers?

Since this appears to be the only open thread:

I called a supervisor up at DIRECTV and this person told me they are going to send this to something called the “national escalation team.” Can someone at DIRECTV please explain what that means?

The Super Bowl and the Winter Olympics are coming up, I want to be able to watch without them being pixelated messes.

You asked me for detailed info regarding my account over 3 months ago.  I provided the info you requested but never heard back from you.  Is that what you consider customer service?  Not good when you don't even have the curtesy to respond back to me.

Just another evening watching NBC 4 on DirecTV. This is happening every 2-3 minutes at 6:30pm tonight.

Does anyone have any idea why only Doreen Gentzler is pixelated? This is what we observe often.

This pixelation has been going on now for 5 or 6 months and no one wants to step up and fix the problem.

My contact at NBC 4/WRC sent me the following:

Rest assured we are equally frustrated with DirecTV regarding the random signal breakup on NBC-4.  After complaining to the local DirecTV operations center several times over the past several months with no resolution, we escalated the issue via our corporate offices in New York. NBCU Corporate has been in touch with DirecTV in an effort to resolve the signal reliability problem related to NBC-4, but we have heard no timeline from DirecTV as to when to expect resolution.

AT&T is really good at jacking prices up every year, but fixing problems or adding new HD channels nope.

It's fixed!! A fiber optic cable needs to be replaced, but a temporary fix has been made as of last Thursday, per my contact.

I have not noticed any pixelization since last Thursday when the repair/change was made. They were as fed up as all of us were. I knew it was not our equipment from day one.

DirecTV changed over to that temporary feed while they order a new permanent fiber optic cable run between their offices near Dulles, and our facilities in NW D.C.
