Really bad this morning. The sound keeps dropping out and the picture breaks up every minute or so. I just don’t understand why this problem can’t be fixed and why the folks like me don’t complain enough. I’ve called several times to complain. It may be time for a change to Fios or Xfinity.
No. I am saying that whatever problem this is might be one they can't fix quickly and the lack of communication between the station and directv does not help.
And any idea why noone else seems to have reported this problem?
No idea why other people don’t report the issue. Complacency? Everyone I know who has directv here is having the same problem and even a tech who came to my house said people were complaining to him.
I don’t know what to do or who to complain to anymore about the pixelation issue and sound drop off on NBC4 in Washington, DC. This has been a persistent problem for at least 4 months now. No entity wants to take control of this situation. I mean, we pay for this. A recent email from directv talked about their focus on customer service. Where is it? Time to go on Facebook and other social media outlets and advise people not to sign up with DirecTV.
Thank you for your submission to the FCC. Your request has been received and assigned Ticket No. 5199637. Throughout the complaint process, you will receive periodic emails updating you about the status of your complaint.
I also have been experiencing this issue of pixelation and sound drop off on NBC4 in Washington, DC. It is really bad during sporting events like Sunday night Football. I also have a Comcast feed in my house for one TV (better price to bundle TV, Phone, and internet) and that feed is perfect, no pixelation or sound dropping off. I had DIRECTV service out three times and every time they say they found an alignment issue, or a cable issue and the problem was fixed, but like everyone else the issue remains. With the Olympics and Superbowl both on NBC this year I hope they get this resolved.
I put in a complaint with the FCC and received a call from Directv’s office of the president. I explained the situation to the nice woman who called me who assured me that the problem will be fixed.
Maybe you broke the code on getting DTV to actually do something. Complaining to the FCC may be something to keep in mind for any future issues with DTV service.
I should mention that I've talked to DTV numerous times about the issue, was always promised they were going to fix it, yet still experiencing the problem on a daily basis.
DirecTV is real good at raising rates annually, but fixing things like this, especially since AT&T took over, is laughable.
The people at DIRECTV wanted me to upgrade to the 4K/Genie 2 receiver, an additional $8 a month cost, which they insisted was going to fix this pixelization problem on WRC.
In years past, when this came up, I would have no problem getting DIRECTV to get it fixed. This year, no luck, as others here have experienced.
Been over 2 months since this issue was first noted on this forum. I've had numerous discussions with DTV, as I'm sure other folks have had, and was assured this issue would be fixed. I'm just about to the point I don't believe anything they tell me (unless it is a price increase which I know will certainly happen)!

That makes no sense. You’re essentially saying the customers in the Washington, DC area are not a high priority.

If no-one complains, this will never reach the top of the priority list.

Nothing will fix the pixelation problem without directv taking charge of the situation
