Playback choppy making DirecTV2PC useless

I just installed DirecTV2PC on my Windows 7 PC running an Intel Core i5 CPU, 4GB RAM, and a Radeon HD4670 video card. My HR20 is connected via a Belkin Wireless G gaming adapter and NetGear RangeMax Wireless G router. The application and connectivity seem fine.

However, whenever I try to play recordings, both HD and SD, the playback is so choppy as to be unwatchable. I suppose this is just the wireless connection speed not being good enough, but I wanted to get feedback from others before giving up.

Should DirecTV2PC work fine over Wireless G or do you need Wireless N or powerline connectivity to get reliable playback?

I should mention that I have MediaShare working over this same connection with TVersity Media Server running on my PC. Playback has been fine whenever I have watched home videos from my PC on the HR20. Perhaps the TVersity server is just much better at compressing and streaming than the HR20.

I'd like to hear others' experiences with DirecTV2PC over Wireless G.

Thanks.
