playback failed

continued "playback failed"  how do I fix?

What DVR/Receiver model numbers?

Have you tried resetting them (red reset button)?

@thomaspowers that error often appears when DVRs or HD receivers are trying to interact via Whole Home DVR but they cannot because there isn't a good connection or the DVR being used for programming is not connected to the network.

However, please confirm that this error appears from a DIRECTV receiver, not from a phone or tablet. This way, we can confirm that this particular error is coming from a Whole Home DVR incident, not a device having issues streaming channels on the DIRECTV app.
