POPPING SOUND
How do I get rid of the popping sound when changing from DirectTV to the Firestick? My TV is connected to DirecTV, the Firestick to my home theater. There is a popping sound when I change the TV from DirectTV to the Firestick or vice versa. I have checked all the cables. I have also tried changing the digital Dolby settings - still a popping sound. Please help!

We can certainly help with this audio problem, @BB618!
Great job checking the cabling and changing the Dolby audio setting, we had that thought as well. There are a number of factors that can cause audio equipment to “pop” at input change. The most common reason is a sudden change in DC voltage at the speaker’s input. Most DirecTV receivers use an Input of 120v~1.3A 60hz, and an Output of 12v-4.0A. We’d need you to check your specific power settings for your Fire Stick and home theater system and compare them.
You mentioned that your DirecTV receiver is connected to the TV, and the Fire Stick is connected to your home theater. Switching audio sources may be causing this, so try connecting both devices to the same audio output. That may resolve the popping issue.
For further troubleshooting steps to resolve this, we’d probably have to refer to your home theater system manufacturer. If the popping sound is coming from the TV speakers, then you may need to reach out to the TV manufacturer as well. They may be able to determine the best steps forward to get rid of that popping sound.
Let us know if you have any other questions about this issue, @BB618!
