Receiver reboots in middle of program
The other night after returning home from dinner I turned on my TV (the one with the HR54 DVR). The channel I was previously watching came on. After a couple minutes the screen went black. After waiting a few seconds I brought up the guide. It came up but only for a few seconds when it went totally black as well then the screen that said checking receiver was displayed then it restarted the receiver. This is not the first time this has happened. Sometimes it happens when I turn on the set in the morning.

A receiver will reboot when there is an issue accessing the hard drive which a dvr is constantly doing. When it starts happening frequently, that’s usually an indication of a failing hard drive.
