Record unscheduled movie

Can you set the DVR to record a movie if and when it ever plays on Directv? A movie that is not found in Smart Search because it is not upcoming on any channel.

Any item you wish to record must appear in the guide data, so if it is not seen in smart search there is no way for the equipment to set the recording.
