Recorded on-demand - does watching it require internet?

If I record from a channel with 1 in front of it (on demand channels), when I go to watch the program does it require internet? It almost seems like it because it says "preparing for playback" and it won't let me fast-forward through commercials but it takes up room on my dvr. We don't have great internet speed so I try to avoid using it when my son is playing games with his friends.

No additional internet bandwidth is used after you've recorded an OnDemand show to your DVR.

The ability to FF commercials is determined by the OnDemand network. Most networks force us to watch their commercials. That's why I rarely record OnDemand stuff.
